The story
L'ATELIER de Joël Robuchon serves contemporary French cooking on the second floor of Roppongi Hills Hillside, at 2F, 6-10-1 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo. The restaurant holds one Michelin star (2026), awarded for high quality cooking.
Most seats face an open kitchen, so guests can watch the chefs finish each plate. The room has 34 counter seats and three tables, all with high chairs. Staff talk with diners across the long counter, a style the restaurant calls convivialité after Joël Robuchon's own idea of relaxed sociability.
Guests can order a set course or assemble their own meal from the à la carte list, including small plates. The Menu Découverte opens with a caviar and lobster gelée over cauliflower cream, one of the restaurant's signature dishes. Summer brings a limited Menu d'Été and a mango shaved ice that returns in small quantities each year.
