The story
Oimatsu Kitagawa serves Japanese cuisine at 4-12-27 Nishitemma, Kita-ku, Osaka, and earned One Michelin Star in 2026. The restaurant sits on the antique street of Nishitemma, about eight minutes on foot from Yodoyabashi Station.
The chef-owner trained at restaurants in Kyoto's Gion district and in Toyonaka, Osaka. The menu centres on fish, with seasonal vegetables. The head chef plans each course around that day's ingredients, so the sequence changes from visit to visit.
A stone-paved approach leads to the entrance, which recalls a Kyoto machiya. Counter seats let guests watch the knife work, and private rooms suit celebrations. Gault&Millau awarded the restaurant 16 points in 2026. The dinner omakase starts at 26,000 yen, with meat or shark fin versions at 29,000 and 30,000 yen, before tax and a 5% service charge.
