The story
Restaurant Orangerie, at Lindenauallee 20 in Wertheim, is a World Cuisine restaurant that the Schlemmer Atlas rated two Kochlöffel for 2026. The kitchen draws on Thuringian cooking with a cosmopolitan touch.
Guests have been received at this former Cistercian abbey since the 12th century. The main dining room has high ceilings, and a glass roof lets you sit under glass and look out over greenery. A second space, the Lucas-Cranach-Stube, has an elegant tiled stove (Kachelofen).
The Schlemmer Atlas describes the cooking as well-prepared country-style cuisine, with a Thuringian core and international influences. The restaurant also lists a set lunch menu and vegan options.
