The story
Storchen in Unterkrozingen serves classic French cuisine at Felix-und-Nabor-Str. 2, 79189 Bad Krozingen, and holds one Michelin star for 2026. The restaurant is a family business, with Fritz and Jochen Helfesrieder cooking in the kitchen.
Fritz Helfesrieder cooks alongside his son Jochen, and much of the produce comes from the family's own vegetable garden and nearby producers. Der Feinschmecker rates the house 3 for 2026 and notes several menus, including a vegetarian one. Roe deer from local hunting with Laugenbrezel dumplings is a guest favorite. Other plates include beef broth with herb crêpes, goose liver terrine with brioche, and a two-part tartare of Adlerfisch with beetroot, lime and passion fruit.
The historic dining room has a tiled stove and has been carefully renovated. White tablecloths and restrained flower arrangements keep the room elegant without feeling stiff. In warmer months, guests can eat in the garden.
