The story
Gourmetrestaurant "1751" is at Schusterstraße 15 in Schwerin, and its modern German kitchen appears in the Michelin Guide as Recommended for 2026. It belongs to Weinhaus Uhle, a wine house whose story begins with a wine-selling privilege granted in 1751.
Chef Marcel Kube builds his menus around vegetables and regional produce, some of it sourced close by. His style is reductive. Each element is chosen with care, and flavors that seem at odds are often brought together. Der Feinschmecker rated the restaurant 2.5 in 2026 and summed it up as modern vegetable-focused cuisine in a classic setting.
The menu "Quer durch die Heimat" runs to five courses (125 euros) or seven (159 euros). The spring version includes celery with lettuce, hazelnut and apple, and mushroom as aspic with black radish and tarragon. Sturgeon comes with yeast, fennel and dill, and the cheese course features "Deichkäse" with pomace and grapes. Sea buckthorn closes the meal. A vegetarian menu is offered, and the Chateaubriand menu, carved at the table, is available on pre-order.
The historic dining room has a richly decorated ceiling and classic furnishings. The wine list holds around 300 labels, from established terroirs to more avant-garde growers. Wine pairings are offered at 69 or 89 euros.
