The story
Restaurant Kaiserstühler Hof serves Badische cooking with French touches at Richard-Müller-Str. 2 in Breisach am Rhein. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2 Kochlöffel in 2026, and the fifth generation of the family now runs the hotel and its restaurant.
The kitchen cooks with fresh ingredients and a light French influence. Menu offers in the source include Breton lobster in shellfish sauce on young spinach with Breisach butter noodles, and roe deer from the local hunting grounds with spätzle and dumplings. Chateaubriand of Schwarzwald Fleckvieh comes with béarnaise and Dauphine potatoes. The Schlemmer Atlas also praised the homemade goose liver, Mediterranean fish soup and braised game ragout.
The restaurant seats up to 100 guests in separate rooms, including the Alt Breisach, the Poststube and the Metzgerstube. In season, guests can sit in the Postgarten or the Weingarten. The Weinstube "Zur alten Post" is the room for wine, where house sommelier Robert Rinderle builds the wine list and suggests bottles to match the food.
