The story
Lumperhof, at Lumper 1 in Ravensburg, Germany, is a traditional Gasthof with a seasonal country cooking kitchen and Mediterranean and Asian touches. The Schlemmer Atlas gave it 2.5 Kochlöffel for 2026, and the guide singled out its fish and game.
The menu changes regularly and follows the season, with produce from the region and herbs and fruit from the owners' own garden. Dishes move between Mediterranean, oriental and Asian influences. A dry-aged Allgäu beef fillet comes with saffron potato purée, and a Breton monkfish fillet is served with black radish and a white curry foam. Game from local hunting and free-range poultry from Upper Swabia also appear on the card. Michelin lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
In good weather, guests eat on the garden terrace under a linden tree that is said to be about 190 years old. Indoors, a tiled stove warms the main dining room, which seats 60, along with a non-smoking side room for up to 35 guests. Both rooms also suit celebrations, family gatherings and business meetings.
