The story
Atelier Tian is a modern international kitchen in Ravensburg, Germany, set inside the Veitsburg castle at Veitsburgstraße 2. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 3 Kochlöffel in 2026.
Christian Ott cooks alone in the kitchen and works with regional and seasonal ingredients. French and Asian accents appear throughout, and the menu changes with the seasons. Der Feinschmecker, which awarded the restaurant 2.5 in 2026, praised his concept and technique but noted a flavor profile that leans robust rather than delicate.
The meal opens with a "Flowers4U" greeting, followed by a kitchen greeting and the signature bread course. Guests choose a menu of three to seven courses or order à la carte, and the evening ends with a sweet "finale Schnabulage". Past examples include a roast jus served with bread, a pastrami and foie gras taco with mushrooms, and a beetroot rosette with leche de tigre and beech nuts. The Schlemmer Atlas also mentions ceviche, halibut and wild duck.
The restaurant sits in the old castle walls, with a summer garden next door and a view across Ravensburg, which is best at sunset. Around 150 wines are listed, with a strong selection from young German winemakers and a focus on Germany and France. Petra Ott runs the service and the wine list, and aperitifs such as the Pfirsich Bellini and the Hugo are served before dinner.
