The story
KOSTBAR is the brasserie of the Syrlin Speisewelt at Ravensburger Straße 56 in Weingarten, in the Ravensburg area. Schlemmer Atlas gave it 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026, and the Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for the same year.
The restaurant describes its food as fresh, creative cooking for meals with family or friends. Schlemmer Atlas names bouillabaisse, sea bass and onion roast beef as evening choices. The menu sits somewhere between international brasserie and Mediterranean kitchen, with a fusion streak. Der Feinschmecker, which rates the house 2.5, calls the cooking accessible and driven by the product. Viorel Reiß is the chef in charge of the Syrlin kitchens.
The Syrlin Speisewelt was started by a furniture manufacturer, and it shows in the light wood and fine furnishings. A cigar lounge and a wine bar belong to the same house. KOSTBAR runs almost seamlessly into MARKOS, the gourmet restaurant next door. Der Feinschmecker describes a wine list that ranges from simple bottles to Coravin pours, with some interesting finds from Lake Constance.
