The story
Weingut sits at Theresienstraße 28 in central Passau, on the edge of the pedestrian zone. The Fusion and Mediterranean kitchen works alongside a wine list that the Michelin Guide recommended for 2026, and wine remains the reason most guests come through the door.
Owner Stephan Öller describes the house as a meeting point between a wine shop, a wine bar and a bistro. The vinothek has a tasting and sales room, with bottles ranging from everyday entry wines to rare collector labels. The Schlemmer Atlas gave it two Kochlöffel for 2026, and its entry puts the international wine selection at the front of the experience.
The steak menu centres on Rottaler Jungbullenfilet in three cuts: a 150 g Ladies Cut, a 200 g Gentlemen's Cut and a 300 g Worker's Cut. Rib eye from Argentina comes in 300 g or 400 g portions. Beef tartare is served with tramezzini, pickles and kapern, and a sushi-style tower features Lachsforelle with avocado and tobiko. Truffle jus and truffle mayonnaise sit alongside steak fries and a Trüffel-Cheese-Pommes side.
The Weinbar runs an open kitchen, so the cooking happens within view of the counter. Outdoor seating is available in warmer months, and the menu changes with a weekly selection, including a Pho Bo with beef fillet and dumplings and a rosé-cooked secreto from organic Leberfinger pork. A three-course menu is offered at €48.
