The story
Restaurant Brunshaupten, now called Restaurant Heimat Brunshaupten, serves regional German cooking at Ostseeallee 21 in Kühlungsborn. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2 Kochlöffel for 2026.
Heimat here means close ties to North German suppliers, mostly from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The menu follows the seasons and changes with daily specials. The Schlemmer Atlas describes the à la carte cooking as sophisticated, with a wine recommendation available on request.
The regional thinking carries into the glass, from aperitifs and beer to digestifs. The list holds more than 100 wines, local and international, and the team advises in person. The house wine Unfassbar, made with Weingut Korrell, blends Sauvignon Blanc, Weißburgunder, Rivaner and Riesling in organic quality. Bottles can be bought to take home.
