The story
The Kühlungsborner Brauhaus at Strandstr. 41 in Ostseebad Kühlungsborn is a German brewery restaurant recognised with 1 Kochlöffel in the Schlemmer Atlas 2026. The house pours its own beer and serves traditional German dishes in a beer hall that has been brewing on the premises for decades.
The kitchen keeps to the familiar repertoire: beer goulash, schnitzel and roast pork, served with the house beer. Michel Schwarz leads the kitchen as Küchenchef. Breakfast runs daily from 8 to 10:30 as a buffet, with drinks included.
The beer on tap comes from the adjoining brewery. On Thursdays at 15:30 a brewery tour takes place, with a minimum of six guests. On weekdays from 15 to 17, a 0.4 l glass costs one euro less.
The pub seats 270 guests at 50 tables. Diners can choose the main room, the bar or quieter corners, and in summer the beer garden. The winter garden looks out over the promenade. The Bierstube and Braukeller host private celebrations with catering, and guest rooms sit directly above the brewhouse.
