The story
N’eys is a Mediterranean restaurant at Kaiserstr. 24 on Norderney, awarded 2 Kochlöffel by the Schlemmer Atlas in 2026. The dining room looks out toward the North Sea.
The kitchen combines regional island produce with a lighter southern touch, and the gourmet card changes every week. Starters include bouillabaisse, ceviche of sea bass with lime dressing and avocado-mango tartare, and vitello tonnato made from veal saddle with tuna sauce and capers. Gillardeau oysters come plain with lemon or gratinéed with spinach and sauce béarnaise.
The North Sea sole is pan-fried whole and served with nut butter, creamed kohlrabi and boiled potatoes. The Schlemmer Atlas pairs it with a warm chanterelle salad. For meat there is saddle of lamb with jus, two preparations of Jerusalem artichoke and polenta balls. Dessert might be a chocolate soufflé with salted caramel sauce, or a plate of raw-milk cheeses.
Dinner is served in the winter garden from 7 pm, Friday to Sunday. Light materials and warm colours keep the room calm, and the panoramic glass frames the sea. In good weather the roof slides open around sunset, and the evening plays out to the music of Rudi Schuricke.
