The story

Palais Keller, Munich: Bavarian Cuisine at Promenadeplatz

Palais Keller serves Bavarian cuisine at Promenadeplatz 2-6 in Munich, and the Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2 Kochlöffel in 2026.

Chef and kitchen

Michael Konietzny leads the kitchen, which reads Bavarian tradition in a contemporary key. The team works mostly with regional products from the surrounding area and turns them into modern Bavarian specialties. The kitchen is open, so guests can watch dishes being prepared before they arrive at the table.

A salt storehouse with a long memory

The building went up in 1443 as a Salzstadl, and its massive walls carried it through the centuries. In 1972 Falk Volkhardt made it a place for Bavarian cooking. Interior designer and art dealer Axel Vervoordt gave the room a careful redesign in 2019. It forms part of the Hotel Bayerischer Hof.
