The story
Dobler's in Mannheim serves classic French cooking with Mediterranean touches at Seckenheimer Straße 20. The restaurant holds one Michelin star, listed for 2026, and has been operating since 1987.
Eric Schumacher joined Dobler's in 2013 and became sous chef in 2019. He took over the restaurant in early 2025, after Norbert Dobler retired. The kitchen keeps the house tradition of French classics, filtered through Mediterranean, Asian and Oriental influences. Meat comes from Allgäu game, Creekstone Farm beef in Kansas and French poultry.
Fresh seafood and freshly caught fish remain central to the menu. Other highlights include the onsen egg with truffle jus, the pan-seared duck breast and the prime rib with Asian veal jus. The lunch menu changes daily, while the evening menu runs four or five seasonal courses. The wine list draws on Palatinate producers and is especially strong in Burgundy and Bordeaux.
The recently renovated main dining room seats 40, with warm natural tones and elegant chandeliers. Two smaller rooms suit private events: the Rosengarten room hosts up to 20 guests, and the Wasserturm room fits business dinners for 7 to 8. Private dining is available for groups.
