The story
CARALEON stands at Halbinselstraße 70 on the Wasserburg peninsula, part of Lindau, and was listed as Recommended by the Michelin Guide in 2026. The hotel restaurant serves an international kitchen with Peruvian influences, a few steps from the water.
Chef Sandra Siancas builds her menu on regional and seasonal ingredients. Alpine classics are reinterpreted, and Mediterranean dishes sit beside the Peruvian touches that arrived more recently. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded 3 Kochlöffel in 2026 and singled out the wines and the terrace view.
Lena Siancas is sommelière and restaurant manager, and she pairs the wine list with the kitchen's flavors. Jonas Bohnhorst, her deputy, leads the floor with her.
The house has received guests since 1713, and a renovation that began in 2018 modernized its four buildings. Dining happens in a wood-paneled Stube, the lake-facing restaurant, a fireplace room or the conservatory. On fair-weather afternoons from Thursday to Sunday, the Sunset Lounge serves Peruvian-inspired snacks and cocktails at the bar.
