The story
Valentin Wine Dining, at In der Grub 28A in Lindau, serves contemporary Mediterranean cooking with a wine suggested for every plate. The Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for 2026.
The list runs past 400 bottles, chosen by the house sommelier, and you can come for a glass or a bottle without ordering food. On the menu, each dish carries its own pairing by the 0.1 l glass. Baked oysters with salmon caviar and tartar sauce, for example, arrive with a Chablis.
Der Feinschmecker rated the restaurant 2.5 in 2026 and describes the food as ranging from classic to Mediterranean. Octopus carpaccio with passion fruit and chorizo sits alongside French-style plates such as bouillabaisse with sauce rouille. Vegetarians can choose a mushroom risotto, and dessert might be a crème brûlée or a chocolate-raspberry tart with cocoa sorbet.
Inside, a historic vaulted space is furnished with wooden tables and padded benches. Outside, a spacious terrace is shaded by a sprawling walnut tree. A private room is available for groups, and the kitchen also offers menus of up to seven courses.
