The story
Planerts is a restaurant at Ritterstraße 23 in Leipzig, cooking an international menu with Asian fusion touches. The Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for 2026, and the kitchen works from a short, changing menu in a converted courtyard building.
Chefs de Cuisine Marco Ehrt and Marko Schulz-Werner cook in the open kitchen, while Sebastian Wirth hosts and runs the bar. The team describes its style as modern international food, creative and close to natural ingredients, without rigid labels. Guests can build their own menu from the current dishes or order individual plates à la carte.
Starters have included beef tartare with celery and onsen egg, pickled salmon with cauliflower, and a seafood lemon veloute with tuna and leek. Mains range from a Planerts Thai curry with a choice of roastbeef, fish, corn-fed chicken or tofu, to skrei with bouillabaisse foam and two kinds of rabbit with mustard seed polenta. Desserts have included baked rice pudding with coconut and mango.
The restaurant sits behind a historic facade, with a modern interior, industrial touches and 35 seats around an open kitchen and bar. Schlemmer Atlas awards it 2 Kochlöffel for 2026. The wine list gives space to smaller, lesser-known wineries, and the weekday lunch offers a three-course set menu.
