The story
maiBeck FÜR DICH is a bistro at Am Frankenturm 5 in Köln, serving country cooking with produce from farms around the city. Der Feinschmecker rated it 2.5 in 2026, praising its refined regional cuisine and product-focused menu.
The kitchen has run the bistro idea since 2013. It works with farmers and producers close to Köln and cooks to whatever the season and weather allow. Menus can change at short notice, while the style of the kitchen and the pricing stay the same. Every dish is prepared fresh.
The restaurant's dishes have included zucchini with asparagus kimchi and almond mayonnaise, and veal tongue served warm with beets, chanterelles and pickled cucumber. The room has concrete walls and exposed pipes, with an open kitchen and outdoor seating. The wine list, curated by sommelier Sascha Bauer, offers more than 200 selections, with about a dozen available by the glass. Since January 2025 the restaurant has been cashless, so cards are welcome.
