The story
Félix, at Rupertistraße 26 in Hamburg, is a French bistro that earned a Michelin Recommended distinction in 2026. The kitchen runs a rotating menu alongside à la carte dishes, all built on classic French cooking.
Félix Bechtolf owns the restaurant and spent several years working in French kitchens. That training shows in the menu, which uses premium ingredients and keeps to traditional preparations. Der Feinschmecker gave the restaurant 2.5 in 2026 and described the cooking as excellently executed classics.
The reviewer singled out a Coquille Saint-Jacques with beurre blanc and spinach leaves. Pâté en Croûte Bourgeois arrives with foie gras and a savory herb salad. The bouillabaisse comes generously loaded, served with rouille and toasted bread. Ris de Veau, roasted calf's sweetbread with tartar sauce and potato salad dressed in pumpkin seed oil, is rare on northern menus.
The dining room is plain, with dark blue tiles, small wooden tables and an open kitchen. In warmer months, guests sit outside in a gravel garden. The wine list includes a number of high-priced prestige bottles from France, alongside house selections.
