The story
Klösterle Hof, at Klösterleweg 2 in Bad Rippoldsau, is a Badische restaurant that earned a 2026 Michelin Bib Gourmand for good quality cooking at good value. The Gasthof has served guests since 1924 and combines a hotel with a restaurant and wine list, built around regional German dishes and seasonal produce.
The menu leans on Black Forest ingredients. Forelle Blau, a stream trout poached in a root-vegetable broth, is served with boiled potatoes, while Forelle Müllerin is pan-fried in lemon butter. The Wolftäler Hirschragout arrives with cream mushrooms, potato dumplings and cranberries. Swabian dishes such as Schwäbische Maultaschen and Gaisburger Marsch sit beside grilled steaks, including Black Angus rump served with Café de Paris butter.
The Kamin Lounge, located in the breakfast room, centers on a large rustic stove surrounded by upholstered seating. Guests gather there for conversation, a book or a glass of wine. The Schlemmer Atlas awards the restaurant 2,5 Kochlöffel and describes the setting as cozy Black Forest ambiance in the Wolf Valley.
Stefanie Huber and Markus Klein host the house, and the kitchen keeps the Gasthof's traditional character in its cooking and its warm dining rooms.
