The story
Saittavini is an Italian restaurant and enoteca at Luegallee 79 in Düsseldorf, listed as Michelin Recommended in 2026. The house has called itself a first address for Italian food and lifestyle in the city for more than two decades. Its owner, Michelangelo Saitta, quotes a Sicilian saying on the website: whoever knows no leisure does not live.
The kitchen keeps its daily recommendations deliberately small so produce stays fresh. About 80 percent of the vegetables come from Italy, delivered twice a week. Pasta is made with organic flour, the beef is Razza Piemontese from the La Granda breeders' cooperative, and the fish is sustainably caught.
Handmade tagliarini come with black winter truffle, and orecchiette with salsiccia and cime di rapa. Tagliatelle are served with venison ragout. On the fish side there is a grilled skewer of sole, prawn, turbot, sea bass and scallop, plus sea bass baked in a salt crust for two. A separate asparagus menu runs alongside the regular card, and pistachio crème brûlée closes the dessert list.
The Schlemmer Atlas gave Saittavini two Kochlöffel in 2026 and describes a convivial enoteca with stucco, chandeliers, wine racks and white tablecloths. Seafood salad, turbot and seasonal truffle dishes are named among the specialities. Wine is central here, with roughly 1,000 bottles from all continents and a list that reaches well beyond Italy. Takeaway and catering are also offered.
