The story
Irma la Douce is a French brasserie at Potsdamer Straße 102 in Berlin, and it holds one Michelin star for its 2026 guide year. The kitchen cooks classic French dishes alongside a handful of Italian plates, with a card that moves between bistro staples and seasonal cooking.
Francesco Contiero leads the kitchen and starts from French bistro classics, then adds his own twist. Gillardeau oysters arrive gratinated under a crisp buckwheat crumble, and the beef tartare comes with shallot, caper and tomato, with optional Ossetra caviar. The menu is entirely à la carte, so guests order as they please.
The bouillabaisse is served with red prawn, gurnard and mussel under a rouille. Seasonal plates follow the calendar, such as a morel risotto finished with Vin Jaune. The dessert list includes crème brûlée and a chocolate biscuit with peanut and pear, and a cheese course from affineur Waltmann.
Art Deco chandeliers, tall mirrors with a patina finish and tables dressed in white give the room a Parisian feel. In summer, a terrace opens onto the pavement. The sommelier, Sascha Hammer, leans toward aged Rieslings and rare Burgundies, with sixteen wines available by the glass.
