The story
Diekmann, at Meinekestraße 7 in Berlin, is a French and German restaurant with an oyster bar, and the Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 2 Kochlöffel for 2026. The room has a bistro feel, and the cooking draws on both countries' traditions.
The front room has decorative wine racks from an old colonial goods shop. Guests sit at high tables around a freestanding oyster bar, while the back room has small tables in a plainer setting. Oysters come from France and Ireland, and the restaurant says they are delivered directly from selected farms without intermediate storage. A short bar menu runs from midday for smaller plates.
Diekmann has combined German and French cooking since 1982. Bread is baked in the restaurant's own oven and served with browned butter. The Schlemmer Atlas singles out lobster bisque, and the dinner menu also lists duck liver parfait with brioche and radicchio. Michelin lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
The business lunch changes every week and runs Monday to Friday. Water, bread and espresso are included. In the evening the kitchen serves French and German dishes à la carte or as a tasting menu, and the oyster selection is available at both lunch and dinner.
