The story
Fritz & Felix is an international restaurant at Schillerstr. 4/6 in Baden-Baden, Germany, inside the Brenners Park-Hotel & Spa. The Schlemmer Atlas awarded it 3 Kochlöffel in 2026, citing first-class cuts from the charcoal grill, fine fish, and vegetarian and vegan creations drawn from around the world.
Farid Fazel leads the kitchen. He trained in several restaurants in Austria and Germany, and he combines his knowledge of Black Forest regional cooking with influences from further afield. His 2018 cookbook, #Heimat-Schwarzwald reloaded, sets out much of that approach in print.
The open charcoal grill can be watched from the dining room. The cuts and roasts change daily, and the Catch & Roast of the Day shows the kitchen's focus on fish. A Chef's Choice menu lets guests hand over the order entirely. The tatar, given a modern treatment, is one of the signature dishes, and the dessert compositions are built with the same precision.
The terrace looks over the Oos toward the Black Forest. The room is stylish but unhurried, suited to guests who want quality without formality. The wine list has been recognized with awards, which pairs well with an evening at the grill.
