The story
Palace is a modern Nordic restaurant at Eteläranta 10 in Helsinki. The Michelin Guide awarded it two stars in 2026 for excellent cooking, and the White Guide placed it at Global masters level the same year.
Chef Eero Vottonen leads the kitchen and says the food he grew up eating and the training he received shape everything served here. The team aims for an innovative yet sophisticated Nordic menu. Palace was the first Finnish restaurant to earn a Michelin star, in 1987, and Vottonen brought a star back after a three-decade gap before the restaurant rose to two. His awards include Chef of the Year in 2012 and the Global Chef Challenge in 2016.
The restaurant occupies the tenth floor of a building originally constructed for the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games, with views over the city and the sea. The menu changes with the seasons, and the current edition is menu vol. 34. A vegetarian menu can be arranged on request, but a vegan option is not offered, so guests should mention dietary restrictions when they reserve. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage pairings are available with the meal.
