The story
Marcus Restaurant + Terrace serves modern cuisine at 1440 rue de La Montagne, inside the Four Seasons Hotel Montréal, and was listed as a Michelin Guide recommended restaurant in 2026.
Executive Chef Jason Morris was born in Montréal and began as a poissonnier. After the Institut de Tourisme et d'hôtellerie du Québec, he moved to New York to work with Paul Liebrandt. He has been named among Canada's Top 10 Chefs and Canada's 100 Best Chefs, and his cooking is built around local ingredients.
Seafood anchors the menu. The tower arrives with oysters, cocktail prawns, snow crab, sashimi and a Nordic prawn salad, while Canadian black cod is paired with sesame, potato and edamame. Elsewhere, expect fresh pasta with lobster and chilli, grilled octopus with cilantro dressing, a double-cut lamb chop, and eggplant finished with togarashi and Québec maple syrup.
The wine program, led by Chef Sommelière Alexandra Guay, holds a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence (2023). Head of Mixology Jay Lawson, who trained at Stillife, Cloakroom, Le Fantôme and Pastel, runs the bar. The terrace sits high above the street and serves breakfast, weekend brunch, lunch and dinner.
