The story
La Petite Madeleine is a classic cuisine restaurant at Rue de La Madeleine 19 in Tournai, and Gault&Millau scored it 13 for 2026. It is a family-run house with a warm dining room and a kitchen that cooks to the season.
David created the restaurant more than ten years ago, and a team led by Yvon, Yvette and Eric now runs the room. The chef likes to build a dish as a path, to tell a story through it, and to play with texture. Gault&Millau singles out a reworked classic as the opener, with red mullet seared on one side.
Early courses include tuna ceviche with avocado, peach and verbena, and a dashi broth with mushroom, daikon and foie gras. Main courses on the menu include deboned quail in a five-seed crust and red mullet with rockfish soup. Dessert ranges from a gratinated sabayon Ispahan with raspberry, rose and lychee sorbet to a chocolate course. The Michelin Guide lists the restaurant as Recommended for 2026.
