The story
L'Angelo Rosso is an Italian restaurant at Brustem-Dorp 154 in Sint-Truiden, where the kitchen follows the Italian fine dining tradition. Gault&Millau awarded it 14 points in its 2026 guide, and the Michelin Guide lists it as Recommended for 2026.
Roberta Silvestrini leads the kitchen and works with market-fresh produce, refining her dishes from one season to the next. The house describes its cooking as pure Italian gastronomy with Mediterranean roots. She also works as a chef for TV Limburg, according to the Gault&Millau profile.
Two set menus run alongside an à la carte. The Menu Classico, from 17 June 2026, includes swordfish with salmoriglio, burrata with tomato, pasta with crab, fennel and pistachio, and entrecote "Agnus" with green asperge and artichoke. A four-course menu costs €95, with a wine selection for €50, and the à la carte is not served on Saturdays or Sundays. The vegetarian menu follows the same structure and includes a risotto with peas and artichoke.
The restaurant occupies a former gentleman's townhouse in the centre of Brustem, fully renovated into a stylish interior. Filippo Catania has welcomed guests for more than 20 years and advises on dishes, wines and desserts. The terrace is a quiet spot for a long lunch, and the room also hosts private parties and events.
