The story
Otoro, at Luikersteenweg 366 in Hasselt, is an Asian fusion restaurant that earned 15.5 points from Gault&Millau for 2026. The kitchen follows a French-leaning structure with Oriental influences, and it opened its doors on 1 October 2022.
Chef Pajtim Bajrami takes his name for the restaurant from otoro, the Japanese term for the softest part of the bluefin tuna belly. He also works with scallops, langoustines, Wagyu beef and Anjou squab, giving each product its own shape on the plate. The Michelin Guide lists the kitchen as Recommended for 2026.
The meal is a five- or six-course tasting menu built around high-quality products with an Oriental touch. Guests reserve through TableFever. The menu is composed with great care, so the kitchen cannot accommodate vegan diets.
