The story
Alberte is a casual bistro at Dendermondsesteenweg 78 in Ghent, rated 13.5 by Gault&Millau in 2026. An electric blue facade marks the door.
Quinten Calliauw cooks a market-led menu that changes daily. Gault&Millau praises a cuttlefish salad with kimchi and Brussels sprouts for its finesse. Le Fooding, which lists Alberte, described a buckwheat cracker with smoked yogurt and vadouvan in onion bouillon, and cuttlefish tagliatelle with fermented pepper jus. Dinner runs four courses for 60 euros or five for 74, and lunch starts at three courses for 44.
Phil Dewulf and Inge De Moor are behind the room, which has mallard green walls, exposed brick and two bars. The natural wine list is large, and service stays relaxed. Behind the main room, Albertini is the little sister café and cave, with sharing plates, pizza and pasta.
