The story
Racines is an Italian restaurant at chaussée d'Ixelles 353 in Brussels, rated 14 by Gault&Millau in 2026. The kitchen cooks seasonal, pan-Italian food, and an enoteca sits at the entrance.
Capri-born chef Ugo Federico and Florentine sommelier Francesco Cury have run Racines since 2015. Everything is made in-house, and the menu changes daily or close to it. Le Fooding lists the restaurant as a Brussels beacon of pan-Italian cooking.
Evening dishes have included tagliatelle alla genovese with raw smoked amberjack, and Basque beef tenderloin with braised endives. Two optional extras are a large ravioli filled with a whole burrata and black truffle agnolotti. Diners sit at a long counter facing the stoves or in a white-bricked room overlooking the garden. The enoteca at the entrance holds more than 300 Italian wines.
