The story
Glou Glou is a French-leaning wine bar at Moorkensplein 27 in Borgerhout, Antwerpen, and Michelin gave it a Bib Gourmand in 2026. Le Fooding listed it the same year.
Chef Christophe Van Remoortere cooks a modern bistro menu with international influences, built around produce that arrives fresh each day. Plates come out of the open kitchen in a tapas-like rhythm. Le Fooding picked out asparagus with karnemelk, a creamy tarragon vichyssoise, langoustines with artichokes and fregola sarda, and hanger steak tataki with cucumber kimchi and puffed rice. The fusion streak is clear in that last dish.
The wine list favors biodynamic and natural bottles, the light, supple kind with good acidity and minerality. The room is made of untreated wood, vintage tiles and plenty of plants. Concertgoers from the neighboring hall come early for a quick dinner, and a slower second service follows. Later in the evening the room turns into a bar for lingering.
