The story
Briquet is a bistro at Vinçottestraat 36 in Antwerp, where a Latin-leaning kitchen sits in the Borgerhout district. Le Fooding listed the restaurant in 2026, describing it as a laid-back bar à manger with a large terrace and wines on tap.
Chef Jakub Blogowski, known to regulars as Kuba, previously cooked at Pristine. The menu is à la carte and playful, with snacks, vibrant starters, bold mains and desserts. The kitchen works with fresh seasonal ingredients and adds Latin influences. Vegan options are available on request.
Le Fooding highlighted three plates: scorched BXL sprouts in a chickpea cream with sautéed shimeji mushrooms and pickled onions, smoked eel with samphire and leeks, and a steak tartare seasoned with black garlic. The sprouts are the dish that shows the kitchen's taste for char and smoke.
The room is cozy and intimate, according to the restaurant, and the guide notes plenty of neon lights inside. The terrace is one of the restaurant's larger features, and the venue is tagged for lunch and outdoor seating.
