The story
't Lansink, at C.T. Storkstraat 18 in Hengelo, is a modern French restaurant that earned one Michelin star in 2026. It operates in the former tea house of Tuindorp 't Lansink, a housing estate C.T. Stork built for his employees, and the building is now a national monument.
Owner and SVH Master Chef Lars van Galen builds his cooking on classical French technique. He applies contemporary methods and sources mostly local produce, including game from regional hunters and meat from Hereford cattle. Reviewers point to the balance of sweet, fresh and spicy notes on the plate, and to a kitchen that cooks lightly.
The kitchen offers five, six or seven courses, and guests can also order à la carte. Recent dishes have included langoustine with forest carrot, oxtail and white cabbage, and a duck course with asparagus, leek and celeriac. Gault&Millau gave the restaurant 15.5 points in 2026.
The dining room is split into two parts, with modern chandeliers, a beamed ceiling and a light herringbone wooden floor. Sommelier Tom Isik has shaped a wine list that reviewers describe as unconventional and carefully chosen. Since 2016, the restaurant has held the royal purveyor designation.
