The story
The O'ROOM, at Kulmstraße 33 in Seebad Heringsdorf, holds one Michelin Star in the 2026 guide for high quality cooking. Its seasonal, international kitchen sits inside the Marc O'Polo Strandcasino, on the corner of the Strandpromenade.
On 1 February 2026 the room became a pop-up restaurant. Claudio Mazzucato now cooks Italian dishes here as a guest of the house. André Kähler, head of gastronomy, stays on as head chef and puts more energy into the events side of the business. The restaurant presents the change as a continuation, with a cuisine meant to be accessible and light.
Starters include beef fillet carpaccio with pine nuts and Parmesan, vitello tonnato, and octopus carpaccio with celery. Soft cheese baked in brick pastry comes with truffle honey and shaved black truffle in season. Among the pastas are Claudio's gnocchi with porcini cream and homemade tagliatelle in truffle cream. For dessert there is panna cotta with fruit, or a lemon-basil sorbet topped with Prosecco.
The list leans on organic and partly biodynamic growers, among them Weingut Wittmann, Weingut Sander and Pol Roger. The building takes its cue from the glass-hall Strandcasino of 1897, and Marc O'Polo opened it in 2017 as its first concept store.
