The story
Le Schloss Halberg, at Franz-Mai-Straße 1 in Saarbrücken, serves classic French cooking and holds 2 Kochlöffel from the Schlemmer Atlas for 2026. The Michelin Guide lists it as recommended in the same year.
The Schlemmer Atlas points to monkfish medallions provençale and steak tartare prepared tableside, with crème brûlée to close. The three-course menu follows the same line. House-smoked salmon comes with a potato pancake and horseradish cream, and the tournedos of beef fillet with green pepper sauce is followed by a rum parfait with red fruit compote.
The dining room is a modern extension of an imposing 18th-century castle. Menus are written in German and French. A vegetarian menu offers asparagus velouté and house-made gnocchi with vegetables and tomato-pesto sauce. Parties of up to nine order à la carte, while larger groups receive a set menu agreed in advance.
