The story
GästeHaus Klaus Erfort, at Mainzer Straße 95 in Saarbrücken, serves classic French cooking that earned two Michelin stars in 2026 for excellent cooking. The restaurant occupies a late 19th-century villa close to the city centre, and the menu moves between a tasting format and house classics available on request.
Chef Klaus Erfort works with classic technique and the finest seasonal ingredients. The French-inspired tasting menu runs four to seven courses, with set options priced from 175 to 244 euros.
Breton lobster is seared on glazed leeks and served with chanterelles and beurre blanc, alongside a lobster salad with sesame vinaigrette. Turbot comes on white asparagus with imperial caviar and truffle jus, with peas briefly smoked over charcoal. Miéral pigeon is roasted in a salt crust and paired with celery purée and, in season, fresh morels.
The Schlemmer Atlas rated the restaurant five Kochlöffel for 2026, citing its bright rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows and a park-like garden. Light-filled interiors, crisp white table settings and polished parquet create a calm setting, and a large summer terrace adds seating in warmer months. The wine list holds around 600 selections, with a focus on Germany and France.
