The story
Im Gütchen, at Hüffelsheimer Straße 1 in Bad Kreuznach, cooks Mediterranean and international dishes and appears in the Michelin Guide as a Recommended restaurant for 2026.
The restaurant sits beside the castle park in a historic building with a baroque exterior and a modern interior. It runs its own artisanal food production, the Manufaktur, whose products are sold under the same name. Jan Treutle and Elisabeth Stenger-Treutle receive guests. The Schlemmer Atlas gave the kitchen 2.5 Kochlöffel in 2026.
The menu runs from Auftakt through Intermezzo and Krönung to Ausklang, with a separate line each for regional (heimatlich), Mediterranean and vegetarian cooking. On the regional line you find cured salmon with trout caviar, fine noodles with black Périgord truffle, and beef fillet "Oscar" with a crab burger. The Mediterranean line has a matelote of saltwater fish and imperial quail with seared foie gras. A karaage of corn-fed chicken with mango-chili chutney brings a fusion note. Vegetarian plates include beetroot noodles with roasted parsnips.
The wine list leans on nearby growers such as Finkenauer from Bad Kreuznach and Gälweiler from St. Katharinen, alongside Riesling from Schloss Lieser and Toni Jost. The restored weighing house and garden next door open as the Puricelli Garten wine bar on warm summer evenings. It is run separately from the restaurant and takes no reservations. Jan Treutle's kitchen there is small: a cheese plate, warm potato bread or a noodle dish, nuts, dips and pretzels.
