The story
Laudensacks Gourmet Restaurant, at Kurhausstraße 28 in Bad Kissingen, is a Franconian and French kitchen built on seasonal produce. The restaurant holds one Michelin star (2026) and sits inside the family-run Laudensacks Parkhotel, a Gründerzeit villa with 20 guest rooms.
Executive chef Frederik Desch has run the kitchen for many years. Der Feinschmecker describes his creativity as undiminished. The cooking pairs French tradition with modern touches, and guests can choose a small three-course menu or a seven-course one.
The signature Island Cod arrives with nut butter, calf's head ragout and a sauerkraut beurre blanc. Vegetarian diners receive their own set of courses, including glazed chicory with yogurt and black garlic, and pasta dumplings with spicy Bellerbe cheese and truffles.
Traditional parquet floors, paintings and elegant upholstered furniture fill the spacious room. In summer, dinner moves to the renovated park terrace, where tables look out over the grounds.
The cellar holds around 700 selections, with wines from Germany and the rest of Europe. Grower sparkling wines and champagnes feature prominently, and a non-alcoholic pairing is available for guests who skip alcohol.
