The story
Fia Steak in Santa Monica is an Italian-leaning steakhouse at 2454 Wilshire Blvd., and it earned a Michelin Recommended listing in 2026. The restaurant pairs large-format steaks with a modern Italian kitchen, and its wine list won a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2022.
Executive chef Tim Cardenas grew up in Boyle Heights and trained at Lucques and Caldo Verde under Chef Suzanne Goin. His menus lean on seasonal produce and herb-driven flavors, which the restaurant describes as coastal Cal-Italian. Rudy Moreno is the chef de cuisine.
Guests on Yelp single out the ribeye, the steak tartare and the sticky toffee pudding with brown butter ice cream. The main dining room holds a stained glass window of St. Fiacre by Judson Studios, and a 56 lb, 28-wick candle sits in a champagne bucket. The cocktail glasses are Murano pieces that owner Michael Greco chose on a trip to Italy.
