The story
Vedge, at 1221 Locust St. in Philadelphia, is a vegan restaurant whose modern fine dining menu is built entirely on vegetables and earned a 2026 Michelin Recommended listing. The kitchen draws on seasonal produce and bold global flavors, and the room is one of the city's most established plant-based tables.
Chefs Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby, both James Beard-nominated, opened Vedge in 2011 in a historic brownstone in Center City. The kitchen offers an à la carte menu and a tasting menu, so guests can order the restaurant's longtime classics alongside newer seasonal plates. Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice. Some of the vegetables come from the couple's organic farm, Lost Glove, in Chester County.
The bar pours natural wines from about 70 producers, with craft beers and a list of cocktails built around fresh produce. Cocktails such as Tiger Paw Punch, which combines Thai tea, pineapple rum and coffee liqueur, sit alongside non-alcoholic options like the NA Cream Soda and a hibiscus and ginger drink. The restaurant also holds a 3 Radishes rating from the We're Smart Green Guide for 2026.
