The story
Sempre Oggi, at 164 W. 75th St. in New York City, is a modern Italian restaurant on the Upper West Side that earned a 2026 Michelin Guide recommendation. The Italian kitchen works from the day's market, and the bar sits just steps from Central Park.
The menu changes daily, so the printed list is a starting point rather than a promise. Pastas are rolled by hand each morning, and vegetables are picked at their peak. Housemade stracciatella arrives with charred snow peas, Meyer lemon and mint, next to focaccia baked in-house.
Rigatoni with pistachio, guanciale and pecorino sits on the dinner menu beside linguine nero with mussels, calamari and n'duja breadcrumbs. Larger appetites can order the prime bavette steak from Brandt Farms or the veal milanese with mixed greens and lemon. Brunch on Saturdays and Sundays adds baked eggs all'amatriciana and ricotta pancakes with mixed berry compote.
Aperitivo Hour runs daily from 4 to 6pm at the bar, with spritzes and the house Oggi Martini. On Thursday evenings from 8pm, David Kastin plays selections from his personal vinyl collection. The wine list received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence in 2024.
