The story
Manhatta is a contemporary American restaurant in New York City, on the 60th floor at 28 Liberty St. It holds a Michelin Recommended listing for 2026, and the dining room and bar both run on the same seasonal kitchen.
Executive Chef Michele Brogioni leads the kitchen, with Simon Ek as chef de cuisine. The menu draws on traditional techniques and global influences, and it uses local ingredients to produce dishes that feel familiar at first and inventive on the second look. Rebecca Choi, the executive pastry chef, oversees the desserts.
Recent dining room menus have listed spaghetti with zucchini, lobster and summer truffle, and charcoal grilled sea bass with piquillo pepper, Controne beans and mussels escabeche. The bar menu runs from a dry-aged burger with koji onions and Cooper Sharp to a lobster roll on open-faced brioche. Coconut mousse with campfire caramel and smoked cacao nib ice cream appears among the desserts.
The wine list earned a Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2019, and Sydney Fusto is the wine director. Cocktails are grouped by New York neighborhood, including FiDi and Astoria, and one drink takes the restaurant's own name. Walk-ins are welcome at the bar, where the à la carte food menu follows the same kitchen.
