The story
Fasano at 60 E 49th St in New York City is a Milanese restaurant whose wine list earned the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence in 2023. The restaurant belongs to a family whose Italian kitchen traces back to 1902, and the New York room keeps that Northern Italian tradition at the center of its menu.
Chef Nicola Fedeli leads the kitchen and presents classic Northern Italian dishes that have been passed down in the Fasano family. The menu lists ossobuco alla Menighina with risotto alla milanese and tortelli di vitello with a Parmigiano Reggiano fonduta. A classic bollito cart rounds out the Milanese repertoire. Gambero Rosso awarded the restaurant two forks for 2026.
The Dining Room suits both lunch and dinner with a traditional setting. Fasano Bar, a warmly lit lounge, serves cocktails, aperitivo and a lighter dinner menu, and a Stuzzichini menu appears on weekdays between services. One floor up, Baretto hosts live jazz and bossa nova on Friday and Saturday nights. The restaurant asks guests to dress properly, and jackets are recommended.
