The story
Osteria Mozza is an Italian kitchen at 6602 Melrose Ave. in Los Angeles, and it holds a Michelin star from the 2026 guide. Chef Nancy Silverton leads the room, which pairs traditional Italian techniques with California seasonality.
The room is built around a white Carrara marble Mozzarella Bar. Freshly imported mozzarella, ricotta, and cream-filled burrata arrive here before they reach the table. Dishes such as Burrata & Braised Leeks and Smoked Mozzarella di Bufala show how far those cheeses travel across the menu. Silverton is often found working at the bar herself.
Handmade pasta anchors the primi, from Garganelli with ragù Bolognese to Tagliolini "Da Francescana" finished with aged Parmigiano. The wine list is all Italian, with a focus on Piedmont, Friuli, and Tuscany. On Monday through Thursday, the Amaro Bar serves a pasta tasting menu.
