The story
Angelini Osteria is at 7313 Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles, where Gino Angelini runs an Italian kitchen rated two forks by Gambero Rosso in 2026. The restaurant has served its Italian menu since October 2001, and several of its house pastas remain on the printed menu.
Gino Angelini grew up in San Clemente, a small town in Emilia Romagna, cooking each day beside his mother and grandmother. He decided to devote his life to food at 14. He first brought that training to Los Angeles in 1995 as chef of Rex Il Ristorante, then opened his own restaurant in 2001. The cooking stays close to that home-kitchen background, with plain, authentic Italian plates.
The Osteria introduced the city to its tagliolini al limone, made in house with lemon, cream and Parmigiano Reggiano. Spaghetti chitarra alla norcina, with black summer truffles, sausage and Parmigiano Reggiano, is the pasta guests ask about most. Wood-fired pizzas and Gino's meatballs in tomato sauce round out the Italian menu. Michelin recognized the restaurant in 2026 as well.
The wine list is one of the restaurant's listed strengths, and the room suits a long dinner. Desserts stay classic: tiramisu with mascarpone and espresso, and torta della nonna filled with custard cream, pine nuts and raisins, served with vanilla gelato.
