The story
The Fuzzy Duck serves modern British food at Ilmington Road, Armscote, CV37 8DD, a few miles from Stratford-upon-Avon. The pub holds 2 AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence in 2026 and is listed as Michelin Recommended the same year.
Andy Edwards is the executive chef. The team describes its house style as "contemporary Cotswold," built on local produce for the seasonal menus and daily specials. The kitchen runs from classic pub plates to a more formal Champagne dinner, so both kinds of meal come from one British kitchen.
The current preorder list includes braised blade of beef with parsnip purée and red wine jus, and seared scallops finished with Café de Paris butter. Pumpkin tortellini comes with roasted pumpkin, spinach and feta. Duck breast is served with fondant potato, confit carrot, cavolo nero, pickled cherries and port jus. For dessert, the pecan treacle tart arrives with spiced rum toffee sauce. Menus change with the seasons, so check the current sheet before you visit.
The building began as the village blacksmith's and became a coaching inn in the 18th century. The Baylis & Harding family refurbished it in 2013, keeping exposed beams, flagstone floors and large fireplaces. The pub welcomes children and dogs. A family garden sits beside a landscaped courtyard garden, where guests can take drinks or dine outdoors.
