The story
Seasonality is a modern European restaurant at 26 Queen Street in Maidenhead, run by Francesca and Wesley Smalley and rated Very Good in The Good Food Guide 2026. It sits just off the town centre and works as a proper neighbourhood restaurant.
Wesley spent part of his childhood in Hong Kong, then cooked across the world and in London kitchens. He describes his style as flavour first, built on the best produce he can source. That range shows in a seasonal menu with influences from many countries. Alongside the two and three course menus there is a lunch carte of individually priced dishes.
A 'patatas bravas' fondant sits on the same menu as sake-cured sea trout with Waltham beets and grelot onions. Roast cod arrives with spring vegetables, peas and a smoked bacon velouté. Desserts include a pistachio crème brûlée and a chocolate and cherry choux bun.
The bright dining room is built around a gleaming central island kitchen. The Good Food Guide notes that the layout makes every diner feel they have a seat at the chef's table. Wesley often greets guests himself. The wine list is arranged by style and weight, with a good choice by the glass. The Michelin Guide lists Seasonality as Recommended for 2026.
