The story
Murano serves Italian cooking with a modern European menu at 20 Queen Street in Mayfair, London. The restaurant holds 4 AA Rosettes for culinary excellence (2026), and its kitchen cooks from a contemporary seasonal menu built on British produce.
The menu changes with the season and draws on British produce, sourced farm to fork. The restaurant names Smith & Brock, Lake District Farmers and Passione Vino among its suppliers. Head chef Piero Tiddia leads the kitchen, with Edoardo Savino as sous chef. The Good Food Guide describes Angela Hartnett's cooking as having moved from a more studiedly Italian style toward assurance and refinement, with soothing textures and prime ingredients doing most of the work.
Cured salmon comes as a mosaic bound with dulse, with shaved fennel in an elderflower dressing. Sweetbreads are crumbed and fried, which keeps the texture of the meat intact, and they arrive with carrot variations and toasted hazelnuts in a soy dressing. The carte can be eaten as three courses or stretched to a longer, tasting-style six, depending on appetite. For dessert, a mandarin soufflé is filled at the table with orange and Grand Marnier compote and pancake ice cream, or you can order a caramelised Amalfi lemon tart.
The dining room is large and lushly carpeted, with a muted palette and a rolling wave pattern on the walls. Staff are attentive without hovering. Ladislav Edr is head sommelier, and the wine list has strong choices by the glass. Private dining includes an intimate chef's table.
